Robin

Robin sculpture – Yorkstone – 7 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″

Robins are regular visitors to my garden, and in fact become quite used to me, following me when I’m forking the soil, or potting up, eager for anything they see in the freshly turned compost.

The Yorkstone I used for this sculpture has beautiful rust coloured markings, and I carved the Robin carefully so that this tinged iron-ore banding was positioned to represent the bird’s red breast.  The contrast of the sandstone colours work perfectly and enhance the character of this little piece.
