Vase – Ball Eye Blue Marble

This luxurious and exceptionally beautiful Ball Eye Blue Marble is a blue, deep purple, beige mix color of a very rare seam of Limestone/Fluorite conglomerate in a Derbyshire quarry, and is famously known as ‘Blue John’.  The vein in the marble varies in colour from Amethyst on the outer edge of the deposit to Royal Blue towards the middle.

The vase is hand made in a simple design to the finest detail and polished here in my Lastingham workshop as part of The British Marble Vase Collection.  The collection celebrates the beauty of natural stone and in particular the exceptional colour and pattern variation found in British marbles.
