Sculptures Ash I & II

I was looking for a sculpture made in Ash, as in Volcanic Ash stone material for today – but changed my mind when I remembered FBC London and their stunning accessories.  They come under the FBC’s header of accessories, but they are simply beautiful sculptures in wood – Ash wood.

I wonder if part of the reason I like them is that they are inspired by nature, heritage and the structural form.  They’re hand crafted by  artisans and skilled craftsmen from the North of England in natural raw materials – so perhaps it is not surprising that I feel a connection.

The very heart of the tree there in these simple and elegant forms, bearing the beauty of its natural and luxurious texture.  A timeless, woody echo.
