Frog II

Frog II – Yorkstone – 8″ x 8″ x 5″

Years ago I dug a pond in the garden to attract wildlife, and almost immediately I had frog visitors and now it is home to them, also newts, snails, and water beetles.  During the summer dragonfly nymphs clamber on the vegetation and transform, leaving their empty carcasses.  It has proved a great success and it is always a marvel to stare into the depths at all the life going on under the surface.

Frog II sits here very happily on the pond edge, now overgrown with marsh marigolds and moss.
