Hand carved wildlife sculpture of a Mountain Hare (Lepus Timidus) in Portland Limestone. The stone was chosen to reveal the hare in its white winter coat.  The surface of the sculpture is fine sanded to give a sleek finish, showing how the hare streamlines against the most severe weather conditions in the high mountains, tucking its feet under, crouching low, ears flattened and eyes closed.
