Cherty Bird carved in Portland Limestone – 10″ x 6″ x 9″

This sculpture has a captivating flow in its simple shape – the bird looks skyward, poised as if expecting something, but remaining elegantly refined right to the tip of its curlique tail.

There are beautiful markings (natural shelly inclusions in the limestone) on Cherty’s right flank which gave rise to the sculpture’s name.
