Finch sculpture carved in Yorkstone – 4″ x 11″ x 4″

As soon as the meadow grasses and flowers begin to turn to seed, the finches flock in, balancing on vertical stems in a feeding frenzy.  This year I’ve seen many of the colourful Bullfinches and Goldfinches, but fewer Greenfinches and I miss their twittering, wheezing song and flashes of yellow and green as they fly.
