Tadcaster Owl

Owl – Tadcaster Limestone – 8″ x 4″ x 4″

Watching young Barn Owls in the evening, the newly fledged family would often line up together to await the arrival of an adult with prey.  They would all then begin to make a begging display with lots of noise and jostling activity.

These moments become the inspiration for sculpture, and here the owl is carved in Tadcaster Limestone, the colour of  which beautifully matches the owlets.
