The Egg Maker
The Egg Maker sculpture – carved in Yorkstone – 14″ x 6″ x 7″
I have huge admiration for the steadfast determination of nesting birds in Springtime. So much is invested in preparation and in laying, and subsequent care of the eggs until hatching.
A female bird wriggles herself low in the nest and resolutely sits, waits, protects. Proudly sure of the imminent brood. It is this look of solid sitting that I wanted to hint at in The Egg Maker.
