Would-be Windhover carved in Ancaster Weatherbed Limestone – 9″ x 3 1/2″ x 7″ – £550.00

In early summer I saw Kestrel chicks leave the nest and make their first, rather clumsy, attempts at flight.  They still had some of their downy fluffy first feathers and didn’t look at all ready to follow the encouraging adult birds.

Over time they grew in confidence and began to earn their name ‘Windhover’.
