Stone Preparation

The Little Owl sculpture is carved in Ancaster Weatherbed Limestone which reveals its beautiful markings when polished.  I split a piece for the sculpture from the block I collected at the quarry and then squared it up on the saw.

This gave me a flat surface for the base and made it easier to draw on the surface an outline of the Little Owl.
