Winter Mercatum – Haddon Hall

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to the Winter Mercatum at Haddon Hall, Matlock, Derbyshire. I have a small stand showing my stone sculpture and carvings inside the hall over the long weekend of 23 – 26 November, 2023.
Haddon Hall’s Mercatum Winter Market is a treasure trove of the finest craft and artisanal products, which are beautifully presented in the 900 year old hall and grounds.
It is the grounds, the medieval park with its ancient ecology, that inspired this trio of birds – called Birds from the Medieval Parkland. I had a lovely thought of those 14th century birds, if they too gathered and visited the Winter Mercatum, just for a moment flew in to see the festively decorated hall in its sparkle and seasonal magic.
