In the Workshop today – Birds wait

Bird stone sculpture

Birds wait in the winter landscape for me to finish their birdbath, and fill it with water.   Here’s one of them on a fence post at the workshop, watching the sun rise as I chisel away inside.

Birdbath in Yorkstone

They waited patiently for their water until I delivered the birdbath to its new home and we had a ‘filling ceremony’.  They’re coastal birds now and sit looking at their reflections in the bowl of their birdbath.  Reflected too is a palm type plant growing in their new garden, the exotic leaves of which were blowing and rustling in the wind driven in from the sea, and animated further in the thrown back watery image.
