Exhibition at Magpie Contemporary Art
Bird tail-up is my very latest stone sculpture and one of my bird carvings on show at Magpie Contemporary Art Autumn Exhibition.
The sculpture shows a bird with its tail up in the air, in a perky attitude. I’ve carved in one or two details, some marks to suggest tail feathers and also crisp carving for the beak and eye to show the bird’s character. The sculpture is finished with a fine, smooth surface, giving clean lines and a contemporary feel.
The beautifully textured Yorkstone I’ve used for Bird tail-up sculpture is suitable for the garden (or indoors), where it will attract a beautiful patination over time, a subtle, natural mellowing and colouration of the stone with the seasons.
The exhibition – including paintings, ceramics, sculpture and jewellery – runs from 17th September to 4th October in the gallery and garden and is open from 11 am – 5 pm Thursday to Sunday.
Please contact Nina at the gallery if you would like to make a private appointment on other days, or at other times.
