Thankyou CT – I’m making a bird with its neck arched and head pointing upwards – this marble is quite pink and as I polish, becoming more and more flesh like! Rather than bird like!

The whole process of translating a lump of something into a three dimensional work has fascinated me ever since I was an art student, probably because I’m hopeless at it. I only seem to be able to work in two dimensions (unless I’m knitting) so am quite in awe of what you are doing here.

Really pleased to find your blog. The 3d thing seems to cause panic, and feelings of uncertainty, don’t know why as everything is 3d – really it is the 2d which is difficult! As you know anyway, it is just practicing your craft, and perhaps a bit of loving it too.
